We are a safari agency based in East Africa. We work directly from the field, with no intermediaries or subcontractors. Every safari is designed and organised by our team on the ground, alongside guides specialised in wildlife and flora, certified by FGASA and KPSGA, two internationally recognised references for their expertise in the natural environment, biodiversity and wildlife interpretation.
Every detail is carefully prepared in advance, from the choice of reserves to transfers, to guarantee a smooth, comfortable and perfectly organised trip.

Behind Lookasse lies a life of travel, bivouacs, encounters, dusty roads and mornings spent waiting for the perfect light, camera in hand. Over 5 years spent abroad, including 3 living in East Africa, with time in India and Latin America, I learned to journey through wild territories, to observe nature up close and to photograph those who live alongside it every day.
Settled between forests, savannahs and volcanoes, I observe, I listen, I photograph. My approach is simple: to tell the story of living things without artifice, to show their beauty, their harshness and their mystery.
Each photo reflects a real moment, sometimes silent, sometimes brutal, but always authentic. Through Lookasse, I share these fragments of nature that I have had the chance to approach, with respect and fascination.

Because everything is built around the image, and nothing else. The itinerary follows the light rather than a programme: out before dawn, back after dark, and we stay with a scene as long as it still has something to give. Our guides are trained in photography: they place the vehicle for the angle and the backlight, and cut the engine at the right moment. The cars are fitted for it, one seat per window and solid points to brace against. Equipment can be hired on the spot, if you would rather not travel with a 600 mm. The standard of the lodges stays your call: from bush camp to high-end, whatever the group wants. And no level is required: beginners, keen amateurs and semi-professionals all get their money's worth, because what makes the difference is not the camera body but the time spent in front of the animal.
Budget from €1,000 per person for a first short safari of 2 to 3 days, in a shared camp or group vehicle. Around €3,000 for a private itinerary of 4 to 5 days, with a dedicated vehicle and guide. From €10,000 for an exclusive, one-of-a-kind expedition, tailor-made in the best parks and reserves. The price gap reflects the level of exclusivity: shared or private vehicle, standard of the lodges, rarity of the itinerary. International flights are never included, so that you remain free to choose your departure date.
Included: accommodation, full board at the lodge, park entry fees, vehicle and guide, transfers and domestic flights when the itinerary requires them. Not included: international flights, insurance, visas, premium drinks, tips and special permits, billed separately at cost.
East Africa can be visited all year round. From June to October, dry season and the Great Migration between the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. From January to March, calving season, with lower visitor numbers than high season and photography conditions considered excellent. The gorillas of Uganda and Rwanda can be observed all year round, with more accessible trails during the dry season.
The areas we offer are stable and monitored daily by our teams on the ground. You are accompanied by professional guides, reachable at all times, and repatriation assistance is required for every traveller. We will also tell you plainly when a region is not recommended at a given time.
Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda issue online authorisations, to be requested 2 to 3 weeks before departure. Passport valid for 6 months after return with 2 blank pages. We send you the exact list of steps, country by country, as soon as the trip is confirmed.
From the comfortable lodge to the expedition tent, every address is selected for its standard of comfort and service. We adjust the level to your expectations, always within a high-end setting conducive to tranquillity, and we describe it to you honestly before booking.
